Congratulations, parents and guardians of our 2023 8th grade class! 


Each year, Orinda Intermediate School celebrates the promotion of our 8th-grade students with a ceremony, party and Six Flags outing. We hope to see all of our Bulldog graduates participating in these special traditions!

Here’s what you need to know about our Promotion activities:


Promotion Ceremony – Thursday 5/25, 6:00 - 7:30, at OIS on the blacktop near ISOLA Gym

  • Parents, friends, family are all welcome and invited to attend.
  • Dress code: Although this is not a formal event, students are encouraged to wear sport coat/tie/collared shirt/slacks or dresses/skirts/ pantsuits.
  • Students RSVP below; Parents interested in volunteering, sign up below. 


Promotion Party – Thursday 5/25 (immediately after ceremony) at OIS MPR

  • Special celebration for our 8th grade graduates only.
  • Party theme is a top-secret surprise!  
  • A slideshow will be shown at the party and we need your help! We need 2-3 photos of your child from vacations, sporting events, or other activities for a slideshow. Deadline is April 27th. 
  • Voluntary contributions are requested for students attending. To donate, see below.
  • Students RSVP below; Parents interested in chaperoning, sign up below. 


8th Grade Outing to 6 Flags – Friday 5/26 All Day Event (9am-6pm)

  • 8th grade students only.
  • Buses are provided to and from OIS (early return bus option arrives 4:30 at OIS).
  • Students will be given a voucher to purchase lunch at the park.  
  • Voluntary contributions are requested for students attending. To donate, see below. 
  • Students RSVP below. Parents interested in chaperoning, sign up below. 
The OIS Promotion Slideshow
  • The OIS Promotion Slideshow will be distributed via link to 8th grade parents and shown to students at the post promotion party.
  • Please upload no more than 3 photos from your student's time at OIS.
  • Photos can be from school events, social events, extracurricular activities, school or family trips, or any other memorable moments from the last 3 years.
  • Upload your chosen photos to dropbox and change the filename to use the following naming convention:

We want to ensure each 8th grader is represented and ask for all photo submissions to be completed by April 27.
