Come explore the power of your imagination through Improv! (Classes are full)

Improv performer, coach and OIS parent Michelle Swaney will lead a fun filled improv class from 3:30-5pm on Mondays 1/13-4/28 or Fridays 1/10-4/25 with a small show in the evening of 4/29 in the OIS Library. Through Improv exercises and games, students will work together to spontaneously create funny stories and characters, always in a supportive and collaborative environment. Improv fosters confidence, creativity, and connection.  Classes will culminate in a hilarious improv performance of short-form games.  Come try Improv and discover a new sense of creativity and play!

Shows will be performed on the Miramonte Main Stage!

Hunt Cast Performance #1: Fri. 2/28 @ 4:30pm 

Hourglass Cast Performance #2: Fri. 2/28 @ 7:30pm 

Hourglass Cast Performance #3: Sat. 3/1 @ 2pm 

Hunt Cast Performance #4: Sat. 3/1 @ 5pm  

 

The show will be directed by Christina Holling, OIS Choir, Drama, and Musical Theater teacher, and  rehearsals will be held on campus at OIS in the MPR. Please send any questions to Bulldog Theater Manager Jenifer Balducci.

  

Important Dates:

  • Regular rehearsals: 10/9 - 2/19 on Wednesdays from 2-5 pm.  Both casts will rehearse together.  Actors will stay until 3:30 or 5 on an on called basis.  Call schedule will be announced the week before on Google Classroom.  Actors who are released may be picked up or stay until 5.
  • Some actors may occasionally be asked to come to additional rehearsals during Academy on Thursday on an as needed basis throughout the rehearsal period. 
  • Tech/Dress Rehearsals: Sat 2/22, Mon 2/24, Tue 2/25, Wed 2/26, Th 2/27
  • Performances: 4 shows, Friday 2/28 and Sat 3/1
  • Tech Crew: Feb 12,19, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27 and shows on Feb 28 and March 1
  • Tech and Cast members may NOT miss any rehearsals during the tech week or shows, except for excused illnesses.  Sports, appointments or other reasons are not accepted, so please plan accordingly.

Show Details:

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another in a way they never could have imagined. In the end, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between a mother and daughter in this heartfelt and hilarious adaptation.
