Dear Bulldog Friends,

We hope you all had a festive holiday season and are looking forward to a wonderful 2024. You are
receiving this letter because you have a special relationship with an Orinda Intermediate School (OIS)
student. We’d like to invite you to become a part of the Bulldog Buddies and help support our continued
efforts to maintain all the special programs that make our school outstanding.

Bulldog Buddies is a group of grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. who want to be part of the
commitment of preserving the OIS culture. As someone who cares about a special middle schooler, you
can join this group by making a donation in any amount to OIS on behalf of that student.

WHY DONATE
OIS is unique in its plethora of special offerings to the students, including:

• Countless electives, including foreign language, woodshop, computer programming, video
  production, band, and chorus
• Expanded library hours and a full time librarian (hundreds of kids use the library daily during
  brunch and lunch)
• Lunchtime sports and clubs
• Wellness Counselors
• Classroom technology
• Bulldog Theater

Surprisingly, these offerings are not mandated by the state and are only made possible by the generous
donations of OIS families and people like you. Orinda Union School District is in the top 1% in the state
for performance, but it is in the bottom 1% in state funding. Faced with limited public resources, OIS is
forced to raise money year after year to bridge the gap between what the state provides and is needed to
maintain these vital programs. This year, we need to raise $1,002,000 to meet our goal.

WHO WILL BENEFIT
Any funds you donate will directly benefit OIS. These funds are controlled by the OIS Parents Club and
your student will benefit immediately, this calendar year!

Donations are 100% tax deductible. ONE is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tax ID #94-
2623617.

All funds will be donated via the Orinda Network For Education (ONE). This organization represents a
collaboration between all six Orinda public schools to streamline and improve fundraising efforts. ONE
works in partnership with the OIS Parent’s Club to distribute needed funds, while at the same time
building a collective endowment for the future of Orinda’s schools.
